Food modeling project

The hardest thing about this project was coming up with a food to model. I have never had a good relationship with food throughout my life, and finding something that I could actually say I ate and enjoyed constantly was a problem. While seeking help for my own eating problems, I had actually learned from one of my doctors that Cumberland Valley High School has a large amount of students with eating disorders. I created this to not only express my problem through art, but to also show that anyone who is going through or has gone through something like this is not alone. The significance of a pack of mint gum is that others with eating disorders use it to appease their hunger. For a short time being, you do not feel hungry and you are able to continue with not eating. If you do know others who do this, show them that you care for them and are there for them. No matter what stage of the illness , no matter how thin or sickly they are , and even if they appear to be perfectly fine and healthy, reach out to them.

End of the year blog post

My favorite part of this year was being able to learn about animation and how to create fluid movements and portray emotion. It’s something that really interested me and It helped me learn How to create a story. While I am unable to create a script, this class has helped me move forward into my dreams of creating my own cartoons.  What was most difficult for me however was just trying to learn and understand blender. For most it was easy, but for me it seemed like I missed a step every time! With practice, I’ll be able to improve though!

Timing and spacing is important in animation because it is more pleasing to the viewer. It adds realism to the subject, or allows it to bring a character or object to life on the screen.
